In October I was staying with my in-laws in Oro Valley, Arizona. They’ve got a great view of some local mountains, and one evening the sunset was just about perfect. I shot a bunch of photos, and did two different treatments of the best one in Photoshop, one with a reddish cast and the other in blue. I can’t decide which one I prefer…
I guess both work pretty well. I lean more towards the blue one, but the red version is probably more “Arizona-ish”.
I lean toward the blue version, too.
Did you do anything besides the color treatments to those photos? It’s weird how the closest building seems to have lettering on it in the red, and nothing on the blue.
In addition to color variations, I did some burning and dodging to emphasize various features (especially noticeable in the differences in the foreground bushes), as well as cloning to eliminate some ‘distractions’, such as the missing lettering you noticed and a couple of annoying spotlights on distant houses.
