Rainbow photos are cliche, I know. But sometimes the cliche works.
This photo was taken June 19, 2009, just outside of Ottawa Illinois. I had been out storm chasing, hoping for some decent photo opportunities, when this popped up in front of me. At the time I would have killed for a serious wide-angle lens, but in retrospect I think I like how this stitched-together version turned out better.
I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a full arc rainbow like this before. This one is even a double on the right-hand side. Very, very cool.
A short while later I got to see a really spectacular sunset, too.
It was a good day.
Trippy! I imagine this is how a spider sees a sunset.
